Family Faith Formation is a ministry at Corpus Christi that focuses on providing parents with the inspiration and tools to share the Catholic faith with their children.
Families come together to share and learn about the Catholic faith through monthly meetings that are held the first Sunday of the month before the 9:45 mass.
Each month focuses on a particular theme based on the teachings of the Church. The families are given activities and readings to complete at home before meeting again.
This group is not just for those families who have a child preparing for First Communion. It is designed to guide the parents in continuing their own faith journey while giving them the support they need to lead their children into a life centered on Christ.
Sacrament Preparation for First Communion
We require that at least one parent and the child participate in the Family Faith Formation program.
The parents and the child will have six small booklets to complete at home for each of the sacraments. These materials focus specifically on the meaning of the sacraments and on what your child needs to know before receiving them.
The child’s family must be registered and active in the parish of Corpus Christi.
In addition to the month family meetings the child and at least one parent must attend a retreat for each of the sacraments. The retreats are held on a Saturday morning from 9:00-11:30.
